Causes of phenological mismatch is when competing organisms alter the timing at various rates of frequently replicated phases in their life cycles. Warming temperatures cause CO2 levels to rise and part of the gas is consumed by the seas, which increases the acidity of seawater and this is ocean acidification and it results to rise in sea level.
