When we talk about health care financing, we are referring to the system that provides the money that pays for all health care services. The system that currently exists in the United States is complex. It is a mixture of the government paying for the largest portion of services and the remaining services are paid for by a combination of private payers (insurance companies) and individuals.

In this assignment, you will examine public (government) and private (insurance companies) payment sources and discuss how policy influences health care delivery.

Write a 700 word paper and format it according to APA guidelines, addressing health care payment sources and reimbursement. Include in the presentation:

• An overview of Medicare and Medicaid, including what services are provided and how providers are reimbursed
• An overview of private payor models, including various methods of provider reimbursement
