In an effort to familiarize ourselves on the diversity of our customer

base and ensure adequate support coverage, the company would like to know what sorts of timezones with which they have registered, and how many people are located within each of those timezones.
This would be important for an online retailer to know for a couple of reasons. Most prominently, knowing the span of timezones across customers can inform the company of when they require complete customer support coverage (for phonecalls, etc), and when they might be able to get away with deferred email assistance. This would mean the difference between having someone on-call 24/7 and only having a set 9-5 schedule. In addition, for any events and promotions that the company might want to run, it would be important to know how early/late the start/end times should be, when key hours of activity might occur that could ensure a more targeted advertisement approach, and if there is any need to run any potential live events in multiple timezones.
