1. What the author means by “life is difficult”

M. Scott Peck says life is challenging because people must struggle to have and sustain their lives. Life is difficult because the process of confronting life challenges is so painful to sustain. The moment people accept the truth that life is difficult, they begin working towards finding a way of surviving. We work hard to stay; this explains the difficulties in life; without hard work, one may not survive. For example, nobody lives without working on getting food and other necessities. Nothing comes easy; we sweat to live.

2. What the author mean by discipline is the tool we use to solve life’s problems.

The author means that discipline is the only tool that can help us solve the series of problems that we encounter in our daily lives after accepting that life is never easy and is all about challenges. Through discipline, we can solve problems and grow as people. There is no solution to problems without discipline; when we are disciplined, we face challenges and solve them confidently. For example, pain can be easily solved by following doctors' instructions; it takes discipline to follow instructions.

3. Four kinds of Discipline and Examples.

Scott Peck provided four kinds of discipline that we will have solutions to our problems if we incorporate. They include delaying gratification, which means scheduling the pain first before enjoying letter after solving the pain problem, such as straining to study first to have a better life out of education later. Secondly, accepting responsibility, taking responsibility for the problem is the first step to solving problems even if it is not our fault. For example, when one begs for food after going days without food, you own the situation. Thirdly, dedication to truth means seeing the truth as it is and not as it is expected to be. For example, choosing to speak the truth on finding a solution to a problem regardless of the effect. Lastly, balancing, discipline must be in balance for better solutions. For example, anger should never supersede our conscience when acting on a situation.

4. Why I agree with author’s definition of love

I agree with the author's definition of love in his elaborate context. It is part of putting my desires first before anyone's. Self-love should play a significant role in the explanation without any disregard. The description digs into loving oneself first in total disregard of what society perceives as essential. For example, society may perceive marriage as vital, but one chooses to advance their education to higher levels first.

5. Connection of relationship between Love and Discipline

Love is closely related to discipline, love is discipline, and through it, there is self-discipline which has always been the driving force of many people. Self-discipline is love that manifests itself in actions, and most genuine love is out of discipline. Real relationships have disciplined love which is never overwhelmed by emotions. For example, self-discipline will make persons in love never disrespect themselves or have premature advances.

6. Anti-love

Dependency is anti-love since it is about ourselves and our satisfaction at the expense of others. It goes against the definition of what love should be, putting other peoples, emotional and physical needs ahead of ours. Dependency deals with influence, and this goes against the doctrines or foundations of love. Love should not be based on a person's impact on another's life. For example, loving a person who gives you more money every day.

7. The most interesting thing I have learnt from The Road Less Travelled

The Road Less Travelled talks about moral things and how we should overcome some problems in society. The most exciting thing I learned from the book is that discipline is attached to almost everything that we do, and it can help us find a solution to the problems that we have. Discipline helps in finding various solutions that form the better part of our life. For example, our life's problems of survival can be better solved by discipline in making decisions. Lastly, life is difficult.
