Week 4 - Discussion 1
No unread replies.No replies.
Your initial discussion thread is due on Day 3 (Thursday) and you have until Day 7 (Monday) to respond to your classmates. Your grade will reflect both the quality of your initial post and the depth of your responses. Refer to the Discussion Forum Grading Rubric under the Settings icon above for guidance on how your discussion will be evaluated.
Your written response to this discussion prompt assesses your ability to describe the types of collaborative service delivery models in the special education profession.
The collaboration and communication that you create and sustain within a school site will be partially determined by the type of service delivery model that is utilized. See the Instructor Guidance page for specific information regarding the following service delivery models:
· Collaborative Teaming
· Co-teaching
· Complementary Instruction
· Role Exchange
· Consulting
Initial Post: Using the textbook and at least one scholarly source:
· Explain in two to three paragraphs how different service delivery models promote a variety of roles for the team members who provide collaborative academic support for students with disabilities.
· Identify at least one strength and one weakness for each of the models.
· Provide a complete APA 6th edition formatted citation, including the database where you retrieved the article.
Guided Response: Respond to at least two peers., noting any similarities or differences you identified within the different collaborative service delivery models. Provide solutions for some of the identified weaknesses based on your own research or background experiences.
Though two replies are the basic expectation, for deeper engagement and application of the material, you are encouraged to provide responses to any comments or questions others have given to you (including your instructor) before Day 7. Be sure to ask questions of your peers to gain additional information and to meaningfully continue the discussion. This ongoing engagement in the discussion will deepen the conversation, while also providing opportunities to demonstrate your content expertise, critical thinking, and real-world experiences with this topic.
