It means when the two variables are demonstrated graphically on a graph, they both will form a straight linear line, diagonally. When variable A increase, variable B will also increase and vice versa. The opposite of direct proportional is inverse proportional which means when variable A increase, variable B decrease and vice versa. Thus, direct proportional means two variables are alike from each other.
