Businesses are concerned with employees using the internet for personal use instead of work only. In this social media age, many people use their work computers to monitor their personal social media pages. Due to companies monitoring more computer usage, employees tend to use their personal phones in the office more. Using personal mobile phones in the office can become a distraction, which can sometimes have a negative affect on being productive at work. In addition to using social media, there are concerns about losing the professionalism in email traffic within the workplace. Some employees may become a little too relaxed when sending a simple yet official email.

As a technical writer today, I had a challenge with people not wanting to communicate face to face in certain situations. Sometimes having a face to face discussion is more effective than exchanging a dozen emails. While emails are convenient and helpful when needing to verify shared information, some problems can be solved faster and easier through a face to face conversation.
