Deforestation is simply the destruction of forests.

Deforestation is the human act of destroying forests whether tropical, coniferous, or any kind of forest. This is due to the usage of the lumber gained for human consumption. It comes in many forms whether massively cutting down trees for lumber or burning down trees to be converted into agricultural, industrial, or commercial lands.
