Homeostasis comes from the Greek word that mean steady or same. And it refers to a process that living things use to maintain somewhat stable conditions that are necessary for survival; such as something like body temperature. If your body temperature drops too low you could die. Homeostasis is maintaining necessary for your body for your survival.
