The Solar system consisting of 9 planets lies in the Milky way galaxy. One of those planets is our own MOTHER EARTH. The milky way has a space of about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 km. That may be just a number to you but truth be told, its way more larger compared to us tiny humans. It is a disk shaped structure and was first discovered by the Italian astronomer and the creator of the 'Telescope', Galileo Galilei. In historic times, people thought that the Milky way contained all the stars in the Universe but after the creation of the telescope this statement was changed and more galaxies were discovered as time progressed. There are about 2 billion galaxies in the Universe. Wow thats a lot right?
