Recent focus on academic skill testing has resulted in more inside out (sometimesreferred to as skill and drill) curriculum in early childhood classrooms. In contrast, many early childhood professionals focus on the outside-in (sometimes referred to as emergent literacy) process to literacy development. Think of how you learned to read.
