Participants imagined two scenarios in counterbalanced order. In one scenario, they had high expertise compared to others in their group; in the other scenario, they had low expertise. After each scenario, participants completed a measure of Open Minded Cognition. Participants reported higher open-mindedness in the low-expertise scenario (M = 5.23, s = 1.03) than in the high-expertise scenario (M = 4.36, s = 1.27). The correlation between repeated measures was r = 0.687 (be sure to round to 0.69 when entering ρ), and the standard deviation of the difference scores was s_diff = 1.06.
