A 100-lb magnet is released from 4 ft above the steel plate and adhere to steel plate upon contact. Develop EOM and Calculate peak value of equivalent static force. Assuming a damping ratio of 2%, Calculate the time required for the displacement amplitude to reduce to 50% of its magnitude when the magnet come in contact with steel plate (CL02, 12)
