Conceptual model application: Re-visiting the Social Ecological Model

Over this course, we have looked closely at all the multiple levels of influence included in the social ecological model. This week you will look back at the original model you produced in Week 1 and revise it.

1. Access your original social ecological model diagram

2. Create a new google doc and re-create the social ecological model, expanding on it and especially ensuring systems of power are fully represented as they relate to your health.

3. Link to your Google Drawing below along with a brief reflection on what has changed in your model between Week 1 and Week 8.

Case study application: Community-Based Participatory Action Research 

1. Locate a community-based participatory action research project either in a peer-reviewed literature or from a website resource.

3. Read, synthesize, and summarize the CBPAR project in the form of a review summary (max. length 2 pages, double-spaced) using your own language. Provide an assessment of the strengths and limitations of the partnership work: What are the competing interests of the community versus the public health goals? How does the community partnership improve the public health goal, and how does it change the goals? Provide constructive feedback, provide justification, and include APA formatted citations when they apply.
