Using approved guidelines for conducting simple Internet research, choose one immigrant or refugee group, approved by the instructor by Week 3, and prepare a 7-8 page, double spaced, 12 point Ariel font, research

Failure to meet minimum word count or any form of plagiarism will result in an F on the assignment, with further academic penalties for plagiarism as per St Leo’s policy.

The Student’s research assignment topic must be approved by the instructor by class of Week 3.

Failure to do so will result in a -5% penalty on the research assignment’s grade.

The research assignment will be due by Saturday night of the 7" week.

Research paper should include the following information:

1. An appropriate amount of images/visuals in the form of:

* Maps

* Charts

* Graphs

2. An introduction of your group and an overview/brief history of its place of origin.

3. Push and Pull factors that affected your chosen group

4. Skills and assets of this group

5. Liabilities of this group

6. Early settlement patterns of the group

7. Occupations in which this group was concentrated

8. Challenges this group faced

9. Settlement patterns and experiences of this group in American society today
