1. Compose a paragraph about yourself based on ONE of the following prompts:
   1. If you are what you eat, what food item or meal combination are you? (You may address this literally or figuratively.)
   2. If you could be transformed into (or reincarnated as) an animal of your choosing, what would it be and why?
   3. Identify ONE of your favorite media texts or artists and explain why the text (or person) appeals to you. (Be sure your focus is on a specific book, movie, TV show, song, computer/video game OR author, performer, game creator, etc.)
   4. Whom to you most admire and why? (The person could be someone you know or a public figure.)
   5. In what activity do you most enjoy participating and why?

2. Revise your assignment following these standards:
   1. Purpose: to provide personal information about yourself and to practice paragraph writing
   2. Length: one paragraph
   3. Format: MLA; double-spaced with your heading in the upper left corner; use a “standard” font style (10- to 12-point size)
   4. Revising: Based on your choices, demonstrate your understanding of your lecture material by revising your paragraph with the following principles in mind:
      1. The topic sentence should be clear and reinforced by supporting passages.
      2. Supporting elements should include specific “evidence”: examples, details, incidents, actions, behaviors, descriptions.
      3. Consider the “flow” of your ideas – revise with an eye toward clarity, coherence, and cohesion.
