I agree with Margaret Atwood. For older generations who have grown up in the age of different diseases such as polio, spanish influenza, diptheria and other epidemics, this COVID-19 that we are presently experiencing seems to be what they call as a recurrence of a plague and the overarching message was that older folks believe that "this too shall pass". While younger generations expressed how frightening and severely challenging it is to handle and cope with such an ordeal.

People of both generations have responded differently to the pandemic. Unfortunately, elders didn't have much access to informative news in the past about the virus, precautions, treatments and vaccines were not yet developed hence, a lot of people died. I believe that in such a difficult time like this, one of the things that helped people get through it is through modern technology. While everyone observes home confinement, technology made it possible for people to still work and study online, to get important information and updates of the current situation, reconnect with family and frienda around the world and most importantly, there is an acceleration on vaccine development and distribution.

In today's time, with people being equipped with proper awareness and preparedness, the majority feels obligated to follow rules and protocols thereby protecting and preventing ourselves from getting sick or infected.
