Modeling Assignment 2 (Sandia Medical Devices Case Study) is an exercise to create Data Flow Diagram. You need to read online Chapter B to prepare for this assignment. We are going to follow the convention described in Chapter B for this assignment.
In this assignment, we will work on the Case Problem at the end of chapter B. Please see below for details. Please note that you need to use materials from Chapter 2-5 of your textbook to complete this assignment.
When you are working on this assignment, pay attention to the following items.
? All processes (including the Context diagram) in your DFD need to be numbered. Please following the convention discussed in the DFD lecture.
? Visio 2013 is the default application. However, Visio 2010 file is acceptable.
? Use the correct Gane/Sarson template in Visio.
? Properly connect all the lines to shapes.
? Keep the diagram clean and readable.
? Use verb-phrases to name the processes.
? Keep the parent/child levels DFD balanced and consistent.
? The so-called event-partitioned system model can be viewed as Use-Case equivalent way of functional decomposition.
? The DFD fragment and process explosion refers to the Level 1 DFD (diagram 1).
