About 10-K and 10-Q, can a company file both 10-K and 10-Q at the same moment or a year? Or if a company is filing 10-K, it can't file 10-Q, or other way around? Thank you

Expert Solution

10 K is filed annually whereas 10 Q is filed for every quarter.

So, at the end of the fourth quarter, there is a possibility of filing 10 K and 10 Q simultaneously.

Both the documents need to be filed timely as per the SEC guidelines. Preparation of one cannot lead to exemption of the other document.

But 10 Q is less comprehensive than 10K. And also, 10 Q can be used as an input to prepare 10 K.
