I will utilize a manipulation check to decide if I have productively influenced the room temperature by measuring or testing the room temperature of different small groups of participants. This will help me as an experimenter to quickly detect if the manipulated factors affect the dependent variable. If the manipulation did not affect the variable, then the manipulation was not sufficient, but if it affects the dependent variable, then the manipulation was successful.

Independent vs. subjective variables

The Independent variable is a variable that does not directly depend on another variable. In experimentation, the independent variable is manipulated, and it is also of primary interest as the dependent variable in an analysis. On the other hand, a subject variable is a variable that is not of prime importance in an experiment, but it seems to affect the result. During an experiment, the subject variable is not manipulated.
