Is quantum mechanics to physics what molecular biology is to biology?

The impact of quantum mechanics in physics is enormous since it radically altered our perspective of the atomic world. The probabilistic nature of the atomic world, in conjunction with the uncertainty and duality principles, has created a theoretical framework that did not exist before. On the other hand, although molecular biology utilizes advanced microscopy techniques (grazing XRD, STM) as well as computational approaches, it employs the same fundamental concepts from biology (such as DNA sequence, replication, and transcription procedures) in order to study the various interactions between relatively big molecules during the biosynthesis process. Thus, we can argue that molecular biology is not to biology as quantum mechanics is to physics.
