What are the three levels of management? What are they each responsible for?

Three levels of management are:

Administrative or Top-Level Management: This management level comprises the organization's board of directors, the managing director and the chief executive. It is the source of authority and power and oversees a company's goals, procedures, and policies.

Responsibilities of the top management are: -

- Setting the objectives and policies for the business.

- Appointing middle-level management, i.e. departmental managers.

- Preparing strategy-based plans and procedures for the organization.

- Providing overall guidance and encouraging harmony and collaboration.

Executive or Middle-level management: This level consists of departmental and branch managers. These people are accountable directly to the top management for the functioning of their departments.

Responsibilities of the Middle-level management are: -

- Executing the organizational plans and policies set by the top government.

- Participating in the hiring and training processes of lower-level management.

- Evaluating the performance of subordinate managers.

- Making and sending reports to top management promptly.

Supervisory or Lower level management: This management level consists of forepersons, supervisors, section officers and superintendents. Managers at this level deal with the execution and coordination of the daily activities.

Responsibilities of the lower level management are: -

- Assigning tasks and jobs to various workers.

- Guiding and instructing workers in daily activities.

- Overseeing the quality and quantity of production.

- Helping in addressing the grievances of workers.
