What were the Bolsheviks' goals?

The goal of the Bolsheviks was to overturn the Provisional government set up after the removal of the Russian Czar. They were opposed to this government because it had failed to live up to the expectations of the ordinary Russians. The Provisional government was composed of the Russian elite like bankers, lawyers, industrialists and other wealthy people. It had unnecessarily dragged Russia into the war and created a lot of hardship for the ordinary Russians. The Bolsheviks wanted to replace this government with one that was filled by the proletariats.
