According to the Jamaican Embassy, the export product group representing the highest dollar value in global shipments in 2016 is inorganic chemicals, which accounted for 458.3 million U.S. dollars, and 38.1% of the country's total exports. The term inorganic chemicals refers to chemical substances that do not include carbon and its derivatives as their principal elements (i.e.: NaCl Sodium Chloride, or table salt).
