COLLAPSE
Examine a highly influential leader from any part of the world (either past or present). How much of this leader's powers were based on positional power vs. personal power. Discuss in great detail how this person's powers influenced his/her social behavior, roles, and activities.
A highly influential leader from the world would be Donald Trump. He is our current president of the United States, and the position he currently is in gives him a lot of authority and power to do what he wants. This leader's powers are definitely based on positional and both personal power. Donald Trump knows that he has the power to catch everybody's attention. He is the president of the United States and with this being said, he knows that his actions, both verbally and physically, are monitored by the whole world. So why not use this power to catch attention of the world? Donald Trump knows that with whatever he says or does, there is paparazzi that constantly follow him or people who watch over him. People will always react to whatever he says or does, and he knows this so he uses his positional power to get to everyone, and of course it works. Whether it is a simple tweet on Twitter or a picture on Instagram that he posts, his position literally gives him that advantage to grab the awareness of millions across not just the nation, but across the whole entire world. This is a huge example of how his power continuously affects his behavior, roles, and activities. Donald Trump definitely used his personal power to win votes as well. Before becoming president, Trump was already both rich and famous. He was both a business man and television personality. He was very well known as someone who was already "living the good life" before becoming one of the most important people in the U.S. Both rich and famous, while running for president, he wasn't a stranger to the world. He was already famous, making it easier for people to know who he was before becoming president and giving him that little extra advantage for people getting to know him.
