If capitalism is about full supermarkets, what scarcity does economics handle?

When the term scarcity is used in economics, it has a different meaning that how it is used in everyday language. Scarcity is the condition where firms, governments, and individuals have unlimited desires, but only limited resources to achieve those desires. Because all choices have an opportunity cost, everyone faces the problem of scarcity because they will either have a limited amount of resources to make products, money to buy products or time to spend on activities. Even though supermarkets are full of food in many capitalistic countries, every customer still faces scarcity in the economics concept because they have a limited budget to buy food. Even the decisively wealthy face the problem because they still have a time limitation (24 hours) to consume the food and a limitation to store the food. The grocery store faces scarcity because they have to choose which products to place on the shelves and every product has an opportunity cost, being another product they could have sold. Economics is the study of scarcity because decision-makers must make choices in a world of limited resources.
