One thing that would make good people act unethically is that they witness others (whether fellow employees or, worse, management) get away with unethical actions without consequences while they are expected to act without fail. In time, this has a negative effect on morale and may make good people act unethically as well. Also, people may engage in unethical behaviors when the firm is under pressure from competitors, who may be offering incentives for insider information.
