Go online to a web site of your choosing and review the annual report of a company that has inventory on its balance sheet (manufacturing, retail, etc.). One good site is annualreports.com but feel free to use any site you wish. You may select any company, but you’ll do some analysis that includes inventory, so be sure to select a company in manufacturing, retail, distribution, etc. You may want to continue with the company you’ve already discussed in Forums for A/R, Inventory & A/P analysis. Your choice.

After reading Chapter 5 in the text, write an opinion as to how you feel the company is doing overall. Chapter 5 has numerous analysis measures you can choose from.  Appendix A on Page 269 is also a very good reference for financial ratios.

You can do as many calculations as you’d like.  Attach the four financial statements of the company so I can check your work.

Don’t get too carried away with this.  About 3-to-5 pages max should be enough to express your opinion about the company. If you’d like to attach spreadsheets to show calculations, that’s your choice.

Spread work on this project over the final three weeks of the course.  Due Oct. 12.
