BiWeek Assess#S- Personality

 Due Date- as indicated in the syllabus (Dec 1st) You will be assessing the personality of one Famous person, that you think is known by most people.(ALTERNATIVELY, YOU CAN CHOOSE A PERSON Y0U KNOW PERSONALLY AND VERY WELL) you will do it in three ways, as described below, using the Psychoanalytic Theory, the Humanistic Perspective, and the Trait Theory. This should be someone whose personal life is available on the internet as you may need to quickly “Google" information to support your assessment of this person's personality.

This assignment must be at least 2+ pages long, double spaced, in paragraph form.. Please DO NOT USE BULLET POINTS AND WRITE CLEAR AND COHERENT SENTENCE.

When you are done, please submit your write-up by clicking on the link above (BiWeek#5•Personality) and pasting into the area provided. Don't forget to click save and submit. It must be submitted by the due date as indicated in the syllabus.

STEP 1. Prepare by reading the recommended items below. This includes reading about Freud's Psychosexual Theory and Personality Components-Id, Ego, and Superego (textbook page 528-531 and suggest a google search for more information) Humanistic Perspective -Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs (textbook page 539 and suggest a more comprehensive Google search) The Big Five Theory (textbook pS45.547 and if needed a Google search)

ASSIGNMENT

1. 1. PSYCHOANALYTIC PERSPECTIVE-

Assess Personality using Freud’s Psychoanalytic theory. Refer to the handout entitled Freud as well as a quick Google" search. First define and explain the 3 personality components as well what Freud’s Psychosexual Theory. Include all the psychosexual stages in your explanation. Using specific details from the life of your famous person, you must make mention of the role of the 3 Personality Components in their life as well as how you feel the famous person has progressed through the Psychosexual Stages of Personality. (You must make mention of at least two relevant Psychosexual Stages). Please keep in mind that relevant personal information may not be available on the Internet and as such, you are permitted to only use two of the stages in your assessment.

2. HUMANISTIC PERSPECTIVE

Assess Personality using Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Refer to the Handout for more information as well as a quick "google" search. Define each level (at (east 5) and explain where on the level does your "famous person" fall right now Be specific about their life and provide examples that illustrate your point. You should show examples from their life that illustrates why you think very have surpassed earlier levels of the model and why you feel they are current level:

3. TRAIT PERSPECTIVE:

 Assess personality using the BIG FIVE THEORY: Refer to the textbook (page 547), the handout, as well as a quick "google" search... Define and explain each of the five dimensions. Then assess how the personality of your famous person matches up with the dimension. You must provide specific examples from the person’s life to illustrate your point for each of the dimensions.
