Three main types of enviromental standard are--- ambient, emission and technology.

1) Ambient Standard-- an ambient standard is a never exceed level for a pollutant in the ambient enviroment. That could be ambient air of particular city, ambient water of particular river.

US-- National Ambient Air Quality Standards allowable levels of harmful pollutants set by the Enviromental Protection Egency established two types of standard ambient air quality. Primary standard concern the maximum level of air quality necessary to protect public health. They have been set for six principal pollutants known as criteria pollutants. These are carbon monoxide, lead, nitrogen dioxide, particulate matter, sulfur oxides, and ground-level ozone.

2) Emission Standard--- an emission standard is a maximum rate of emission that is legally allowed.

US-multistate ZEV action plan-nine state coalition Connecticut, New-York, Massachussets, Origon, Maryland , Rhode island ,Vermot, New jersey release 2018 zero emission vehicle plan. They plan covers battery-electric vehicle, plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. They have taken this plan to promote i) remover barriers to ZEV charging and fueling station installations. ii) promote infrastructure planning and investment. iii) promote the availability and effective of marketing.

3) Technology Standard--- a technology standard is a techniques or practices that potential polluters must addopt.Cars be equiped with seat belts, is a technology standard.

SOUTH KOREA--- The Korean Agency for Technology and Standard contributes to international standardization with the following objectives- i) to provide technological infrastructure to support Korean enterprises to be recognised internationally by evaluation and certification of technology and quality.

ii) to improve quality of life through standardization.

iii) to enforce product safety.
