The field of personality psychology as a whole can be evaluated by considering its success in meeting a series of goals that have been discussed throughout this text. As a way of reviewing the material of the book, this chapter evaluated the fi eld’s success in achieving the goals of developing (a) systematic, (b) testable, (c) comprehensive models of personality that were (d) based on sound scientifi c evidence and that (e) fostered useful applications.
