Rawl's perspective by stating going behind veil of ignorance is that when everyone is unable of their status, position, identity, the person works for the interest of all, takes rational decision, without having a view of what undue advantages the person posses, therefore while working for the self interest, the person actually many end up helping the society. Utilitarian perspective states that every person must work for all, thereby making decisions which have positive impacts on lives of all, and must share prosperity and happiness. In both the cases, the similarity remains the same. The similarity is justice for all and looking after the benefits and happiness for all.

The response of Utilitarian would respond positively and in favour of Rawl's theory of justice as both resembles the same idea that is shared prosperity and not doing harm to anyone. Rawl's theory slightly differs in a way that under this theory , it is understood that persons make decisions for self interst, however eventually the person ends up deciding good for everyone under the veil. And Utilitarian perspective states making decision selflessly so that no one is affected by the decisions. Still, the ideology of justice remains the same.
