Instructions:?

For this exam, you will answer questions 1-5 below.

Your answers m?ust not exceed? 550 words (they can be less than 550 words). Write your exam in

Microsoft Word using the same typeface and font size as this document: Times New Roman, font size 11. The word count for each of your answers MUST be indicated in parentheses after each answer on your exam. While all your answers to the exam questions must be gathered together into one document and submitted as a single document file, you can perform a word count for each answer by, for example, copying and pasting that answer into a new or blank document and seeing the word count on the bottom left of the status bar or by selecting Word Count under the Review tab in the ribbon at the top of the Word document window.

Your answers M?UST ?be c?arefully?  and ?neatly  written. There should be very few if any spelling errors. Ideally, there should be NO spelling errors, which can easily be avoided with Word’s spell-checker tool (although this tool is not perfect, as it can indicate that a word is misspelled when it is not, so the tool must be used with some discretion). Do your level best to avoid errors in grammar as well. Carefully proofread your exam when you have finished it as you would a resume! A? ny exam answer that is carelessly written from the standpoint of spelling, grammar, or typographical errors will be severely penalized in terms of credit received?.  Your exam answers can be single or double spaced.

Do not Plagiarize:? Any quotations you include in an answer to a question, whether from one of the assigned readings or from the Internet or from some other source, MUST be enclosed in quotation marks and given a brief informal reference in parentheses following the quotation. If you quote something but do not indicate that you’re doing so in the manner just explained, that counts as plagiarism, which I will likely be able to detect and which will likely result in a severe point penalty.

Your answers Must be Entirely Your Own, in Your Own Words (apart from quotations):? ??Whatever quotations you choose to include in an answer to an exam question should be relatively brief, and the number of these quotations be small (one or two). Also, If any of your answers matches, almost word-for-word, an answer to the same question in one or more other tests, your answer will not receive credit (and neither will the other or others it verbally matches).

Your Answers Must be Based Primarily on the relevant course readings indicated by each exam question:? All answers MUST be based, largely if not entirely, on a careful and conscientious study of the readings the questions below refer to, and not on other sources, such as Internet sources. Failure to comply with this rule, which can easily be detected in most cases, will result in significant loss of credit.
