Case Presentation – Operations Analysis

For the case presentation, you will be writing a case study using one of the ‘Operations Analysis’ strategies that we learnt in the class. The case study will involve one company (real life example) that implemented one of these strategies to improve their supply chain performance. You can choose strategy of your choice (Network planning, demand planning, S&OP, ERP, Inventory Management etc); however it should be a real life example and outside of the textbook examples. It can either be a success story or a failure story. This is an individual project. Total points 15.

Describe the following in you project report:

1. The company background, its business and its current situation (2 pts)
2. What were the drivers for implementing new strategies (3 pts)
3. What Strategy was implemented, what challenges were faced (3 pts)
4. What were the results of the successful implementation OR what were the causes behind the failed implementation (4 pts)
5. In-class Presentation (3 Pts)

Deliverables:

• Project proposal (1 page) due on Nov 23^rd.
• Individual Project presentation on Nov 30^th & Dec 7^th (4-5 slides max, 5-10 min to present with Q&A from the class) – to be presented during the class time via WebEx.
• Full project report due on Dec 7^th (max. 4 pages) – submitted via Canvas.

Note: This is an individual project with 15 points. Case studies covered in the class or from the textbook cannot be used.
