Hello, As discussed in clinical this week. You will write a small grant proposal to donate masks to HBPC for the patients. HBPC this week received a new directive that requires the patients and caregivers present during a home visit by HBPC staff to wear masks. Currently the VA does not provide masks for patients. The masks you donate will be given to HBPC patients who need masks. I suggest getting reusable masks so they can get more use out of them. Below is the directive sent to HBPC staff earlier this week. "HBPC providers should also be reminded that patients should be masked when receiving care, even in their own home, for their own safety." In contrast to other home care systems that target patients with short-term remediable needs and provide episodic, time-limited and focused skilled services, HBPC targets patients with complex, chronic, progressively disabling disease and provides comprehensive, long term home care.
