Much of the research discussed in this chapter includes both humor and social interaction. However, the distinction between the effects of humor and social interaction on participants and patients is not fully addressed or explored. How much of the positive consequences of humor therapy and exposure do you think is due to the humor itself? How much is due to the social interaction? Design a study in which you examine the impact of humor and social interaction on study participants. Include hypotheses, conditions, measures, participants, and expected results.
