Think about your previous Geography experience

Geography

Think about your previous Geography experience.  I'm sure you had some good, some bad, and some ugly Geography experiences.  This will be part of your discussion.

Format your initial response as follows:

  1. Say the name you prefer to be called in class.  You may want to provide a way to say your name phonetically.
  2. Where you are from.  This is a Geography class after all.
  3. Your major and where to plan to transfer to
  4. Your best Geography experience.  It doesn't have to be in a formal class.  Be creative.
  5. A bad Geography experience. Again, it doesn't have to be in a formal class.  Be creative.
  6. Your ugliest Geography experience.

A sample response (mine) looks like this:

  1. My name is Rick
  2. I am from Los Angeles, the San Fernando Valley to be more precise
  3. I am a Geography major.  I transferred to Sonoma State University.
  4. My best Geography experience: my recent trip to Spain, Gibraltar, and Morocco - using my knowledge of Geography to maximize the experience!
  5. A bad Geography experience: I got a really bad sunburn in Australia - I'm sure it could have been worse!
  6. The ugly: I didn't get an A in California Geography because I didn't remember the elevation of Mt Whitney for the final exam!

1. Hey everyone! My name is Matthew Przybyla (priz-bee-luh), but I prefer to go by Matt. Before you ask, the last name is Polish, which is why it's so ridiculous haha

2. I was born in San Jose. I lived in Santa Clara for 6 years, then Tracy for about 19 years, and I moved to Sacramento last September to live with my girlfriend.

3. I was looking at computer science as my major, but I have since decided that Political Science is much more up my alley, and with everything going on I decided it was something I could be passionate about, going forward. I am planning to transfer to UC Davis if my girlfriend gets into McGeorge, but if she doesn't, then I'm happy to go somewhere else.

4. My best Geography experience would probably have to be hiking to the top of Yosemite Falls a few years back. Though the hike was challenging for me, the view was absolutely breathtaking.

5. A bad Geography experience for me would have to be that very same hike because about halfway through, I realized i had forgotten my water at home and ended up being severely dehydrated. Thank God there was a stranger who had some filtered river water for me.

6. My ugliest Geography experience might be the heat stroke I recently got while kayaking on the American River last week. Had a headache for 5 days, but today I finally feel better.
