4-methylanisole (2.00 g) was nitrated using a mixture of nitric acid/sulfuric acid (excess). After an hour, the reaction was stopped and pre-purified using liquid-liquid extraction. The crude product was isolated, and found to contain 1.43 g of 2-nitro-4-methylanisole and 0.613 g of 2,6-dinitro-4-methylanisole. Calculate the conversion and the selectivity of the reaction for the mononitration, and show your full work.
