The discussion question is below:

This week, you have learned about the social construction of race and structural racism.  I am going to broaden the discussion a bit this week because there is a lot to process.  So please select one of the questions below for this week's discussion.  This means you will all be discussing different things at first, which is fine.  Just indicate which question you selected in your response by writing it at the top:

1. Thinking about what you know about race and racism, provide one real-world example (e.g., police violence, employment discrimination) and discuss how what you have learned about race, racism, and imperialism applies.
2. Apply this week's content to your personal experience. Discuss how the reading and lectures might help you make sense of your own experience with racism.
3. Discuss any points in the lectures that you want to discuss more. This could be something you still have questions about, didn't quite understand, or just want to discuss more with other people. This last one is a bit broad, but considering the amount of theory and history you had this week, it might be helpful to think this through with your peers.
