• Sign in to the Tableau site (Links to an external site.).
• Register the product as a student.
• Install the license key.
• Explore the Tableau website (Links to an external site.).

1.    Download the exercise files that are found on the LinkedIn Learning web training site (Links to an external site.).

2.    In the LinkedIn Learning Tableau Essential Training 2018 video course (Links to an external site.), go to the table of contents and view the videos in the following sections.

3. Managing Tableau Worksheets and Workbooks, and

4. Creating Custom Calculations and Fields.

Assignment

1.    Create a visualization using the exercise files you downloaded from the LinkedIn course, showing the Customer Name, Customer number in the rows and the Quantity, Unit Price and Total Price in the report.

2.    Create a storyline with four story points using the exercise file provided.

3.    Create a report with a calculated field using the exercise file provided. Create Total Price (quantity times price) and Total Tax (Total Price times 8%). Add the fields to the report.

4.    Submit screen prints from the activities in Tableau.

5.    Write a 3-5-page summary of what you learned about how Tableau helps manage digital information flows and accounting automation. How can you as an accountant use Tableau to implement accounting controls?
