Case study
Jason Moore is a 27-year-old male involved in a motor vehicle accident on his way to work. A witness stopped at the scene of the accident and called EMS. He reported that Mr.Moore was hysterical and stated "I can't feel my legs". He remained with Mr. Moore awaiting assistance. Mr. Moore is transported to the hospital via EMS for stabilization. Upon arrival to the emergency department, his Vital signs are: 86/46, HR 58, RR 20, and he receives a stat CT. Based on the assessment findings, he is diagnosed with a complete T5 spinal cord injury. After stabilization, Mr. Moore is transported to a facility specializing in spinal cord trauma. Upon arrival, he receives a dose of methylprednisolone. His wife remains at his bedside. After several weeks, Mr. Moore is transferred to a rehabilitation unit in order to improve independence with his mobility before he is discharged to go home.
