During this class, the important concept I learned is the amount of time and work that is required to implement a change utilizing IT.  Throughout my career I have implemented change to policy and procedure, to include writing proposals and providing presentations.  But when dealing with IT functions of public safety, I have only been involved to the extent of providing information on how changes could improve current operations.  I never really took the time to inquire all the steps and procedures needed to effectively implement a successful solution.  The process is not extremely different, but adds a new perspective when speaking with the IT department; I will no longer assume they can just implement a change to a system.
