Hello, I am looking for someone to write an article on Organizational Technology Plan. It needs to be at least 250 words. Summary of Key Points and Examples – Eaton Corp Business objectives, and technological environment: Eaton is a company that builds and produces various parts and technological systems for 150 countries worldwide. In 2010, sales were $13.7 billion dollars and they employed 77,000 employees. Eaton is considered an “industry leader” in such things as powertrain and hydraulic systems for cars and trucks, pneumatic systems, aerospace fuel, and technology that includes electrical systems and hydraulics. Eaton has four key objectives in every customer that they do business with, to reinforce their commitment to being a “global leader” in protecting not only their employees and customers but also the environment. Those key objectives are: Continuously improving performances relating to environmental, health, and safety issues Reporting key data as often as possible to the public Operating various businesses and subsidiaries in a sustainable manner by having innovative products and services Making practices that benefit the environment, health, and safety of all a priority to benefit stakeholders. The driving force behind Eaton’s technological environment is sustainability. Eaton is committing to sustaining its practices through research of new technology, “green” technology, and the benefits that it can produce – for example, Eaton’s hydraulic systems are a combination of hybrid and electric powertrains that reduce emissions for the cars and trucks they are a part of. 2. Personal and organizational responsibilities for moral and ethical use of technology: Eaton has committed itself to holding every employee, in every office of every branch of its company accountable for any action, and was named in 2010 by the Ethisphere Institute as one of the world’s most ethical companies. Eaton is constantly looking for ways to innovate the technology that they use, and is committed to a “greener future”, possibly much more so than other companies. The company shares many “success stories” on its website about the innovations that it has helped pursue, and the ways in which it has helped the environment with its upgrades and technologies. 3. Current and potential uses of technology for the global success of business objectives: Eaton has many technologies that it is currently using, and more that the company is researching, to complete its overall goal of sustainability. Eaton’s goal overall is to be sustainable long after other companies are not – and to do that, they have begun incorporating such technologies into their business already – for example, they have pledged to reduce their own GHG commercial emissions by 18% by 2012. 4. Human factors within the enterprise for more effective use of current and emerging technology: Eaton’s employees are committed to ethical decisions and the sustainability of the company, from the CEO down to the most recently hired employee. Eaton’s employees have worked with the company policy of building a “culture of sustainability” to benefit all customers. By placing a mindset that Eaton is to be sustainable long into the future, each employee works with not only themselves and the company but their customers and the environment first and foremost on their minds. By putting the best minds to work on innovative solutions, Eaton has made airplanes such as the Airbus 380 more fuel efficient with a groundbreaking hydraulic system, and worked with other companies to manage electrical and other needs.
