A great many citizens in the United States, unlike almost all other industrialized countries, do not believe in evolution or science

A great many citizens in the United States, unlike almost all other industrialized countries, do not believe in evolution or science.  There are indeed many legitimate questions about evolution and science (the role of ethnoscience by tribes across the world; the origin of the "Big Bang";  disagreements on the whether natural selection is gradual or more punctuated; whether the interpretive sciences count the same as natural sciences etc.)  Discuss how you would approach these individuals, or groups of students, as a teacher. How would you talk with them? How would you listen?
