Think of a man who is in a historically female-dominated profession. For instance, nursing or elementary school teaching. Does his work require that he engage in stereotypically feminine behaviors? If he does his job competently might he risk being judged unmasculine or unmanly? Do you believe that men are discouraged from entering female-dominated jobs? Why or why not? What are the negative and/or positive impacts of this type of gendering in the professional world?
