 Assessment 1.1: Short answer question on Introductory Concepts Individual/Group Individual Length 400 words +/- 10% Learning Outcomes Please see page 3 of this document for the Learning Outcomes that can be achieved through the successful completion of this assessment Context: This assessment is aimed at developing the student’s ability to reflect on their learning and discuss content and share ideas in a professional online environment. The assessment will develop cognitive and critical thinking skills essential for a career in the health profession. By prescribing this assessment, students will develop their academic writing, researching and referencing skills as well as their ability to effectively summarise information. The key understandings developed in this assessment relate to defining Complementary Medicine and Integrative Medicine. This assessment allows students to broaden their own understanding of each introductory concept through engaging in academic discourse, while developing their skills to engage in formal discussions with their peers. Instructions: In this assessment students are required to: 1. Create your Short Answer Question submission using a Word document. 2. Define Complementary Medicine and Integrative Medicine. 

3. Explain both of these terms and provide an example of the type of health consultations that would be considered Complementary, or Integrative. 4. There is no requirement for an introduction or conclusion in this short answer assessment 5. Save the Short Answer Question submission as a PDF file as submit in the Assessments area. Points to consider when writing: • This Short Answer Assessment 1.1 relates to content delivered in module 1 and 2.1. • Students must demonstrate accurate referencing technique according to APA 7th edition and appropriate academic language. • As a guideline regarding the number of references required: for every 150-200 words, at least one reference should be cited.
