This week focuses on the application of ethics to the environment. Do you think the environment (e.g. trees and oceans) have intrinsic moral worth, such that it deserves moral consideration and should be protected for its own sake? Or do you think the environment only has instrumental moral value, such that it only deserves moral consideration insofar as doing so furthers the interests of beings like us?
