This Unit 2 discussion assignment asks you to review the Unit 2 textbook readings and video lectures. This assignment asks for you to put yourself in the shoes of someone living in 1917, specifically April 20th 1917. From here you will gather your evidence and examples and debate whether or not the United States should be an empire. 

This assignment has three parts that will span three individual posts. In the first post, you will give a short description (think of it as a mini bio of sorts) of who your person is and throughly detail why your person would or would not support the two imperial events chosen. The second post should detail two new events and provide the evidence that you gathered to support or oppose the events. Remember- the key concept in these first two posts are laying the foundations for why your character would support or oppose the United States becoming an empire. Finally, your third post details your analysis of your fellow classmate's posts on what they support or oppose concerning imperialism. This assignment asks for you to review at least 5-10 classmates and this is to ensure you have enough to analyze.

This assignment does require you to complete each post by a certain deadline. Since this assignment a collaborative, it makes it VERY DIFFICULT to move forward if posts are not done in a timely manner. Each post had a minimum due date to ensure you all have the ability to complete this assignment.
