Each student will individually pick an Indigenous Nation (First Nation,Métis Nation, Inuit Nation) and profile their art culturally and historically, in a 1000 –1250 word essay, Chicago Manual of Style, double spaced and 12-point Times NewRoman font. Students will research the People’s artwork, history and culture utilizingacademic resources. Research should include: how their art has changed over time,prominent artists from the Nation, and how their art contributes to or is influenced bytheir culture.Students must use proper citations and are expected to use a minimum of two peer-reviewed sources (the class textbook will not count as one of these sources).Rubric: 20 marks totalArt history of the Indigenous Nation... 5 marksHow their culture contributes to their art... 5 marksProminent artists... 5 marksFormat/citation, spelling/grammar... 5 marks
