In this course, you are required to select a business idea.  You will research your business idea through several questions and analyses conducted throughout the course.  For this assignment, use the readings and resources, the Library, and the Internet to respond to the following questions:

1. Describe your business idea and select a form of business.
2. Your business idea must include the name of the business and the purpose of the business.
3. What do you anticipate selling?
4. To whom and where do you anticipate selling the product or service?
5. What business form do you anticipate?
6. Please discuss some of your concerns about your proposed business, what are some of the legal and political factors that would influence your business?

Submit your work in a short essay format with references in a Word document.

Instructions

Use the same proposed business idea that you created in this module (in the Business Proposal assignment). 

Research the political and legal environment of your business and then describe the current situation and how you anticipate addressing potential issues in your company. 

This is the first section of your (P)EST analysis for the company or idea you have selected.  You will continue to build this analysis in all modules.  To respond to this assignment, analyze the political and legal environment associated with the business idea you have proposed based on information from the readings and resources.  

 

 

 

 

 

Respond to the following questions about the political and legal environment in essay format:

1. When is the country's next local, state, or national election? How could this change government or regional policy?
2. Who are the most likely contenders for power? What are their views on business policy, and on other policies that affect your organization?
3. Depending on the country, how well developed are property rights and the rule of law, and how widespread are corruption and organized crime? How are these situations likely to change, and how is this likely to affect you?
4. Could any pending legislation or taxation changes affect your business, either positively or negatively?
5. How will business regulation, along with any planned changes to it, affect your business? And is there a trend towards regulation or deregulation?
6. How does government approach corporate policy, corporate social responsibility, environmental issues, and customer protection legislation? What impact does this have, and is it likely to change?
7. What is the likely timescale of proposed legislative changes?
8. Are there any other political factors that are likely to change?
